Job Description
The Test Technician is responsible for monitoring test procedures and equipment within production and manufacturing to produce high quality products. The ideal candidate must be able to work 8 hours per day and 5 days per week with punctuality in addition to working overtime as needed. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties may be assigned) Review product specs and blueprints for scheduled work assignements. Prepare units for test to include filling fluids, installing test instruments, and presetting controls. Check unit(s) wiring and flows using the proper documentation. Test units using the proper documents and test equipment. Record and calculate data. Perform final run on units as assigned. Prepare unit for shipment, and test related items. Responsible for good housekeeping of individual work area. Responsible for maintaining a daily time log of work done on manufacturing and/or production travelers. Other assignments as assigned by immediate supervisor and/or higher supervisor(s). OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: CIT: establish standards and procedures for continuous improvement. Maintain the currency with respect to technical and supervisory skills by attending training classes, special technical and administration courses; seminars, exhibits and trade shows are needed. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 2 years of related experience, and a broad knowledge of the section and the operation of machines, equipment, and tools that will be used in the satisfactory performance of duties. Ability to use, read, and interprets drawings and measuring scale or tape proficiently. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Working knowledge of electrical trouble shooting Hydraulics, Air Conditioning and Diesel Engine applications. Certified to handle refrigerants per EPA 40 CFR 82 Subpart F prior to use – type 2 or universal, preferred but not required. EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent.
