installation of GTS Edition for Hana (GA 2023).

his will be a brownfield implementation from GTS 11 SP19. All current functionality in GTS will need to be transferred to the new system including AES (Seeburger) and FTZ (UPS) interfaces.


One (1) GTS architect who will be responsible to lead the project team from requirements through to go-live and stabilization. Extensive understanding and configuration experience in SAP GTS Compliance and Customs Management including sanctioned parties lists (SPL), 27 export legal regulations, 19 import legal regs, licensing, classifications, and over 20 tariff/commodity schemes. Preferred knowledge of IPR (Inward Processing Relief), FTZ (Foreign Trade Zone), Customs Import functionality, and AES filing and an understanding of ITAR regulations preferred.


Deliverables The responsible architect/lead will be a GTS product install subject matter and technical expert who will guide the project from start to finish. This person will:

  1. Lead the 2 contract functional analysts as well as the supporting SAP team through the stages of the project.
  2. Give direction, recommend solutions, and lead the overall design, delivery, and performance of the project.
  3. Facilitate the design, technical discussions and drive the decision-making process.
  4. Identify the tasks and people that are necessary to develop a design, build the plan, develop/build the solution and support execution of the plan.
  5. Partner with the DT project manager (PM) and the Global Trade organization to develop detailed project plan from pre-work through to hyper care.
  6. Conduct an upgrade Readiness Assessment and a create a timeline to accomplish required pre-work before new hardware is ready for installation.
  7. Assess all existing RICEFS and disposition “lift and shift” vs migration to standard.
  8. Contribute to the landscape design with the Basis team and help prepare for new hardware.
  9. Support the Test Lead and testing activities (test plan/test creation) to ensure that resting validates requirements.
  10. Partner with the internal GTS & SAP resources, Global Trade, and PM to develop & execute communication strategies for the project.
  11. Prepare and lead requirements workshops with Global Tade subject matter experts and DT counterparts.
  12. Partner with project Change Management resource and Global Trade to develop training and support for users adjusting to new Fiori interface.
  13. Develop and coordinate with the Basis team a detailed cutover timeline (RSL) to allow for conversion downtime and all the required steps to bring up the new system and interfaces.
  14. Ensure alignment/adherence to release activities, timelines, processes. Meets with Release Management to coordinate transport plan and takes ownership to get appropriate approvals from Change Board at time of release. Manages overall project transports to ensure all changes are accounted for and move together.
