The Design Engineer will cultivate a culture of collaboration and team spirit in support of our company’s mission and values. This position will play a critical role In turning Ideas Into functional prototypes using efficient and affordable processes.
You will be empowered to engage with each other according to our values across a range of company-wide platforms and to support the internal/external design workflow. You will also be responsible for assisting in developing the technical solutions in automation, product development, work closely with project teams and tending to the robotics priorities.
As a valued team member of the Engineering department, you are expected to have collaborative communication skills, project management and problem-solving skills, the ability to work strategically, creatively, and interchangeably across multiple teams and geographies, and the ability to take on additional responsibilities as the need arises.
This role is an individual contributor role but will work within teams and work groups.
Assessing Design Requirements:
· Evaluate design briefs to understand project requirements
Solution Development:
· Develop solutions that address user problems
· Ensure designs are user-friendly, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly
Prototyping and Iteration:
· Create multiple design prototypes using computer-aided design (CAD) tools (such as Creo or SolidWorks)
· Conduct rigorous usability tests and modify designs based on results
Compliance and Documentation:
· Evaluate design solutions against industry standards and regulations
· Document the design process and present progress reports to stakeholders
Other Employment Requirements
Experience in a related field (architecture, engineering, or manufacturing) is highly valued.
- At least an associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Proficiency in CAD software, such as Creo or SolidWorks
Minimum of 3 years of practical experience in design engineering
