Job Description

Financial Strategy & Leadership

  • Work closely with the CEO as the foremost financial strategist to shape overall business planning and decision-making.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies that align with growth objectives.
  • Deliver actionable financial insights and recommendations to guide executive-level decisions.
  • Drive financial scalability to support the company’s expansion throughout the Northeast and beyond.

Accounting, Reporting & Compliance

  • Oversee comprehensive accounting operations, including general ledger management, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and tax compliance.
  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Provide detailed financial analysis and actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Establish and enforce rigorous internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
  • Foster and maintain effective relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies to ensure full compliance with financial regulations.
  • Manage day-to-day accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and tax compliance.
  • Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Cash Flow Management

  • Develop comprehensive annual budgets, detailed financial forecasts, and precise cash flow projections to maximize resource allocation.
  • Monitor financial performance to identify risks and proactively recommend solutions.
  • Deliver real-time financial insights and analysis to empower executive decision-making.

Operational & Growth Support

  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and accuracy across financial operations.
  • Leverage technology and automation to streamline operations as the company scales.
  • Manage banking relationships and optimize cash management strategies.
  • Support mergers, acquisitions, capital investment decisions, and potential funding initiatives.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Build and lead a high-performing finance and accounting team aligned with dynamic, growth-driven culture.
  • Cultivate a culture of accountability, innovation, and financial discipline.
  • Provide targeted training and mentorship to elevate financial acumen across departments.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s/MBA preferred).
  • CPA, CMA, or an equivalent designation is strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in high-growth, rapidly scaling companies, ideally within renewable energy, construction, or related industries.
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP, tax laws, compliance, and financial regulations.
  • Expertise in financial planning, forecasting, and strategic decision-making.
  • Proficiency in accounting and ERP software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP).
  • Exceptional leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
