As a Strategic Buyer, you will play a key role in the procurement and sourcing activities of the organization. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic sourcing initiatives to optimize costs, enhance supplier relationships, and contribute to overall business objectives.
This role requires a strong understanding of market trends, negotiation skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and implement strategic commodity plans aligned with the organization's goals and objectives. Conduct market analysis to identify potential suppliers, assess their capabilities, and evaluate market trends. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure a reliable and cost-effective supply chain. Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and contractual agreements. Draft, review, and manage contracts to ensure compliance with legal and business requirements. Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies in all procurement activities.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: The role of a Strategic Buyer is dynamic and requires a proactive individual who can adapt to changing business needs and market conditions. Successful candidates will be strategic thinkers with a focus on achieving long-term value through effective procurement strategies. Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) is a plus. Proven experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, and supplier relationship management. Strong negotiation skills with a track record of achieving cost savings and value creation. Knowledge of relevant industry trends, market conditions, and supply chain best practices. Experience with ERPs (Infor/Baan a plus) Experience with creating, monitoring and improving Supplier Risk mitigation plans. Ability to lead and drive cross functional Commodity Strategy initiatives. Build strong relationships with internal Engineering, Product Management to support development of Commodity Strategies. Strong Business Acumen. Ability to travel to Suppliers as needed. Technical - Ability to read and understand specifications, Bills of Materials and blue prints. 5 years of experience in a Manufacturing setting.
