Job Description
You will also be responsible for performing work at the customer site location and supporting the sales, service, customer support, and technical aspects of the job. In this role, you are expected to have strong communication, mechanical and technical understanding, product knowledge, parts and pieces knowledge, internal and external coordination with the replacement of equipment/tools and direct connection with sales support, and to work collaboratively across multiple teams and geographies, and the ability to take on additional responsibilities as the need arises. This role is responsible for working with people and equipment in harsh and challenging work conditions. This role reports to the General Manager.
 
  • Ensures all harvesting equipment is operational and maintained for daily use
  • Perform equipment/tools readiness, setup, changeovers and next day/next shift planning
  • Maintains equipment to ensure optimal daily use, not limited to preventive maintenance, ensure proper lubrication and fluid checks, ensure wear items are exchanged, defects are addressed immediately, ensuring peak performance
  • This is a highly technical role, where that specific technical product knowledge is required, experience with product mechanics and technical troubleshooting
  • Provide product solutions for operational needs, identify technical solutions to maximize production, make product and tool recommendations
  • Ensure high level quality control checks & safety assurance checks on all equipment and tools, not limited to, proper guarding is in place, decommission equipment for repair, backup readiness, critical wear parts and accessories are in stock for quick adjustments
  • Work with plant mechanics to ensure timely replacement, repair, support any equipment technical issues and help resolve
  • Ensure repair parts are available for repairs, and communicate additional part needs as required, ensure stock items are in inventory on consumable parts and wear items
  • Ensure all equipment/tools is in running order, tested and prepped for daily use, this includes cleaning, buffing, resetting guides, decontaminated & are ready for use
  • Perform daily, weekly, monthly Preventive Maintenance and velocity testing, ensure all equipment is operational or defects are tag for repair
  • Order parts, manage shop inventory, making sure all necessary shop supplies, parts, cleaning supplies are on hand
  • Technical product support, offering product solutions to enhance customer productivity and coordination with internal and external business, to drive growth on parts, consumable parts, tools and equipment is required

  • Requirements
  • Technical school or equivalent degree
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment, repairs, maintenance, technical understanding
  • Mechanical and technical equipment/tools skills
  • Strong knowledge of tools and equipment specific to the industry
  • Excellent problem solving and quick to respond skills
  • Strong communication & customer service skills
  • Daily attendance is critical

  • Other Employment Requirements
  • Physical requirements – frequent standings, constant movement, walking, bending, twisting, squatting, turning
  • Lifting upwards of 25-50lbs
